Gas Distribution Engineer (PE)

Out client is looking for a Gas Distribution Engineer (PE).

Our client is a national engineering, consulting and construction management firm providing integrated services to the power, oil and gas, environmental and infrastructure markets. They serve a broad range of clients in government and industry, implementing complex projects from initial concept to operations.

Lead, share information and direct a multi-discipline design team under the general direction of the lead discipline engineer, project engineer or project manager, meeting project schedules and deadlines. Possess the ability to organize, anticipate problems, analyze situations and provide sound solutions that will affect the successful completion of the project.

Responsibilities:
·       Perform basic or standard engineering analysis and provide recommendations associated with gas capacity requests, system operating procedures, equipment and facility integrity assessments, and system analysis.
·       Perform basic or standard engineering analysis/calculations and designs (e.g., site layout, piping design, material specification, etc.) associated with small scale complex projects and/or participate in large scale complex projects.
·       Independently collate and analyze data within one area using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department's decision-making process.
·       Execute instructions and requests, plan and organize resources and make appropriate arrangements to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and in line with relevant policies and processes.
·       Test and challenge existing procedures and highlight areas for improvement in order to ensure they are robust.
·       Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit the company.
·       Undertake specific tasks of varying complexity in order to support colleagues in the design of technical solutions.
·       Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.
·       Conduct specific projects within area of capability and perform engineering studies, analysis and investigations, under supervision, in order to recommend corrective action in problem areas, or to prevent problems.
·       Work with minimal supervision. Review completed assignments by other drafters/designers for accuracy and completeness and perform inter-disciplinary reviews of designs and drawings to confirm design compatibility.
·       Position requires the technical supervision of other drafters/designers. Provide technical guidance to other drafters/designers in other disciplines or functional area.

Qualifications:
·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school. (Professional experience will determine appropriate engineering position)
·       Active PE license (must be valid in one or more of the following states: Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts)
·       7-10 years’ experience
·       Knowledge of relevant industry practice, standards and legislation.
·       Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation.
·       Need to possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving history required.
·       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
·       Ability to work in a Project Management team environment.
·       Adapt approach and consider what is important to the audience and tailors message accordingly.
·       Actively build and maintain a network of relationships, outside normal business contacts.
·       Take personal responsibility for correcting problems promptly and communicate engineering customer expectations to monitor delivery of engineering projects and satisfaction.

Our client is an engineering firm in Central Texas is seeking a qualified and innovative Civil Engineer (PE) with experience in water distribution system modeling and design with similar experience in wastewater. The client employs professionals in various locations who are adept in the areas of civil, electrical, and sub-surface utility engineering, surveying, and hydrology. In addition, designers in the fields of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), structural, roadways, land development, and reservoirs contribute to an extensive array of services to it's clients. 

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning, design and construction administration of water, wastewater and municipal infrastructure facilities/projects
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for utility infrastructure projects
  • Prepare reports
  • Develop design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Analyze processes based on field investigations, drawings and specifications, and perform calculations
  • Review and prepare federal, state, and local permit applications
  • Perform construction observation and field engineering services

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • 6-15 years' experience preferably in a consulting engineering environment in water and wastewater discipline, particularly utility design work including pipe, treatment plant, tank and pump station design
  • PE in State of Texas is REQUIRED.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
  • Experience working with Municipal clients
  • Progressive experience in planning, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements        
  • Physically able to perform work in the field
  • Construction observation experience is a plus
  • Detail oriented team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD , Microsoft Office Suite and use of standard engineering software
  • Experience with WaterCAD, KYPipe or similar water distribution modeling software is preferred

Drainage Engineer

Our client is a professional consulting firm serving clients in southeast Texas seeking a Drainage Engineer. With sustainability in mind, you will be involved in plans, designs and management of infrastructure projects. The firm is currently searching for a Drainage Engineer to serve as a Project Engineer for drainage projects. 

Manage and perform routine to complex engineering work related to stormwater modeling and design that requires application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Experience with the drainage design and analysis for County, City and municipal sub-divisions, and roadway drainage systems is a requirement. 
  • Applicant must have experience with hydrology and hydraulic analysis and design software as follows: MicroStation, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.  
  • Experience with HEC-RAS 2D, Infoworks ICM, or XP-SWMM/XP-STORM is required.
  • Experience with the preparation of design plans, technical specifications, and opinion of probable construction costs of closed systems, open channels, culverts and bridges, and detention ponds is considered a plus.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering 
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in drainage modeling and designs
  • E.I.T. or a PE within the State of Texas
  • Must be able to communicate clearly through strong technical writing as well as in verbal situations such as meetings and public presentations.
